An OPTICAL SPECTACULAR!
"Landscape Reading Glasses for the 21st century"

Recently installed at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA, are three unique and exciting Landscape Viewing Sculptures. Designed and conceived by Chip Sullivan, these provocative optical devices have been sited in "Natures Castles," a temporary exhibit of treehouses.

Each sculpture is unique and encourages the viewer to observe the landscape in a different way. Inspired by 18th century visual aids used by painters, poets and tourists the SPECTRASCOPE, ARBORSCOPE and PRISMASCOPE respond to the fundamental need for humans to stop, look and linger in the landscape.
